The Damned are delighted to announce new shows for the summer. The band are playing a special one-off show Burg Abenberg Open Air with Billy Idol on June 16th at an amazing castle location, Bad Abenberg in Germany. That promises to be an amazing event. Also rather excitingly, Croydon Council have invited The Damned to play at Croydon Summer Festival. Definitely one for your diaries. http://www.officialdamned.com/news-archive.html

After three years of sell-out London shows, the Bizarre Ball – hosted by Bizarre, the worlds #1 alternative magazine – is going on tour. The first ever Bizarre Ball outside London will take place on Friday 22 October in Manchester, with headliners The Eighties Matchbos B-line Disaster bringing the show to a riotous close. But Bizarre fans in the capital don’t need to feel left out, as there will also be a Bizarre Ball on Saturday 20 November, featuring an exclusive performance from British punk legends The Damned .
Each year the Bizarre Ball delivers a delirious blend of incredible bands, twisted cabaret and freak show frivolity; chaotic club nights that are known on the London live scene as the greatest shows on earth. But don’t just take our word for it – here’s what our famous friends have said about Bizarre’s wild events:
The Glitter Band, in association with Flag Promotions and Monsta Ents are proud to announce "Another Rock And Roll Christmas", a UK nationwide Christmas tour starring The Glitter Band and very special guest Captain Sensible, solo artist and iconic guitarist from The Damned.
The tour commences in St Albans on Thursday December 9th and concludes in London on Sunday December 19th at legendary music venue Dingwalls in Camden Lock. See full date list below.
The tour will be filled with special guests, fun and glam, marking a return to the Christmas tradition of Glitter at Christmas, which has been so sadly missing in the UK for the past few years. I'd guess our stagetime is likely to be not long after 8pm - can you make sure this info's passed around playmates as I'd hate people to be disappointed. And we all know that some of these gigs ask bands to perform EARLY these days so they can morph into a ghastly disco later in the evening, which is becoming all too prevalent these days. I blame Simon Cowell...... or was it Phil Collins? Blah, blah......
Anyway, I know there's a certain notoriety attached to their ex-singer and all that but the guys in the Glitterband deserve the right to do their own gigs again, and I WAS a bit of a glam fan (along with Sweet, Slade, Mud, T Rex, etc) back in the day if the tru... Читать дальше »
